We have partnered with BCA Architecture and Auerbach Consultants to design our new performing arts centers. Each theater will be identical in square footage and function. Budget permitting, there will possibly be slight variations in the lobbies to harmonize the buildings with unique components of the existing architecture of each site. Blach Construction has been responsible as the Construction Manager for preconstruction program management and construction budgeting estimates.
Each performing arts center has been designed to provide maximum flexibility in function. Permanent and movable seating and flooring will allow for five different theater configurations including a traditional proscenium style with and without an orchestra pit, black box, theater in the round, thrust stage, and a large, open theater space.
In addition to committing bond funds to these centers, the District has applied for $15 Million in Career Technical Education funding. The site location of each center is in close proximity to the existing gymnasiums on each site, creating large, shared entry plazas.
