Former players and colleagues of Coach Dave Morgan, who served as Del Mar High's varsity basketball coach from 1959-82, gathered to honor his legacy by dedicating a plaque in his name on September 23, 2016.

my name is Devin Bonner I am watch Morgan's granddaughter I live in Fresno California and I came here tonight to honor my grandpa and be a part of the dedication of his plaque for the Delmar gymnasium how is the dean of students came in the cafeteria table with some of the other coaches  and he said hey rant come here you always call me right I don't think they ever really knew me name is that when I played for him it was usually damaged red basketball and my chemo Nexus well give her something to drink because she does not  the basketball games in Delmar ID candy  if you talk with guys from of the school they didn't like our coach and there is a mis-perception and I realized why don't you like it have a good reason except they always umpire baseball game can start calling strikes remind me to close to keep you know this is the second worst team I've ever coached in my life scorpion video  is very helpful on the skids you was interested in Justin volleyball or whatever it happened to me twice twice halftime in in in in shot around after we pay train half time when he was getting pretty excited in the players is never was turning red is returning red like yelling turn up one side and down the other who is just so angry and you don't have to hide in the wall little bit and he's the came from a code second Hampton Inn sometimes you got to make this the most important thing to do  think the thing that means the most to me is hearing all of the ways I he changed life's really special  as a kid when I would visit Grandma Grandpa one of my favorite things to do West when Grandpa what I was up to you in life in school and so it didn't matter if it was something small or something big an A on the math test which was from the rear for the win taking first place at the Plain view or winning my softball game didn't matter I always wanted to share with Grandpa what I was doing because he was just the type of guy that he and I don't think I'm the only one that shows that sentiment I love hearing the stories and memories about his former player former colleagues and friends and people he think toward it was clear very clear that coaching was his calling and boy did he my name is Joseph Collins and I'm in my senior year as a Delmar athlete  I play basketball football and you might like to go to my home phone telling polish flavored go to Morgan how cold is it going to high school has been excited to learn that no more has a history with someone like coach Morgan and I think I should be for All Adele more athletes when I say that the addition is black so I can is mixes all even prouder of what it means to be enough  you want to express our appreciation to the fans of coach Morgan made this possible and go so generously provided the time Nationwide Van Lines go to Bear Delaware
