Board of Trustees

The district's Governing Board is elected by the community to provide leadership and citizen oversight for our schools.

The 5-member Board works with the Superintendent to:

  1. Set direction for the district
  2. Establish policies
  3. Provide accountability
  4. Provide community leadership on behalf of the district and public education

Members of the Campbell Union High School District Board of Trustees are elected by the public to four-year terms. Elections are held in odd-numbered years, and terms are staggered so that 2 - 3 seats are open each election.

Rick Costanzo, retired from the Campbell Union High School District in 2006, after 30 years as a teacher, coach, activities director, dean and principal in the district.  He has lived in Campbell for 25 years with his wife Jackie, herself a retired teacher and graduate of the district.  His daughter, Lauren, also a district graduate, currently teaches in one of our partner elementary school districts.

Matthew T. Dean Matthew T. Dean has been a resident of Santa Clara County since childhood. He attended public school in the San Jose Unified School District. He went on to attend college at CSU Chico and holds a M.S. in Computer Science and B.S. degrees in both Business Management and Computer Science. Matthew has held numerous individual contributor and management positions at ROLM, IBM, Siemens, Compuware, XACCT and Borland. Currently he is a development director at Macrovision. He is also an inventor with 7 U.S. Patents.

Matthew is married to Jayna Dean who works as a school nurse in the Campbell Elementary School District, and they have 4 children: 3 girls and a boy. Three are attending Del Mar High School and the youngest attends Monroe Middle School.

From 1996 to 2004 Matthew served on the Campbell City Council and has been Campbell's Mayor and Vice Mayor. As a Councilmember he served our community in a number of roles on numerous committees covering everything from housing, to transportation, to flood control, to waste, recycling and water.

Diane GordonDiane Gordon has lived in the Campbell Union High School District for 43 years and graduated from Leigh High School. Diane resides in Los Gatos and has been an active fund raiser and volunteer at Leigh High School. Diane believes that through communication, we can build partnerships with community stakeholders that will help us meet the challenges faced by Campbell Union High School District. Pam ParkerPam Parker, 56, is a native of San Jose. She has lived in the Campbell Union High School District for over 29 years and graduated from Blackford High School. She two sons. One attended Leigh High School and the other graduated from Branham High School in 2003. Pam was very involved in the opening of Branham High School, having served as the President of the Home & School Club since the school reopened in 1999. "By communicating I believe we can resolve most everything." Royce PetersonRoyce Peterson , a retired teacher, brings 38 years of teaching experience to the Board. Royce taught English and Latin at Prospect High School. During that time she served on numerous District committees, including the Financial Advisory and Technology Committees . Royce was active in the teachers' association serving both as president and bargaining chair. Her two sons graduated from Prospect High in 1996 and 2001. She can be reached at rpeterson@cuhsd.org.
