Branham High School was constructed in 1966 and was one of the last schools built in the District in response to the post WWII baby boom. It is a typical finger plan school with variations on the standard rectangular buildings. It included the full set of amenities at the time, including the quad and courtyard patterns seen at the other schools, as well as generous playfields.

With the construction of State Route 85, a portion of the playfield was lost and the site became one of the impacted sites of the District. Currently exterior facilities occupy less space than other campuses. For this reason, addition of buildings and expansion of existing buildings is more difficult and offers greater site impacts here than at other sites in the District.

Branham was closed in 1990 and leased to Valley Christian Schools, who

occupied the site until 1999. Branham was reopened as a comprehensive high School in Fall 1999 with Freshman and Sophomore classes. The school is now fully occupied.

Like Blackford, Branham is a tremendous asset to the District. Its availability as student populations grew allowed reopening prior to drastic overcrowding at other District sites.
