The Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’
Training Corps (MCJROTC) program, commonly referred to as “Junior
ROTC,” is designed to instill a value of citizenship, service
to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.
It does not seek any particular commitment to the military.
The Department of Defense funds and sponsors JROTC, or Military
Science as it is often called, through the Secretaries of the Military
Departments. MCJROTC is funded and sponsored through the Office
of the Secretary of the Navy. The program develops leadership skills,
self-discipline, teamwork, individual initiative, citizenship, and
respect for our government and country.
MCJROTC is offered at the five comprehensive high schools. |
