The English Language (EL) program provides support for students who are not proficient
in English. Students are identified for this program based upon
the home language survey information and results from the California
English Language Development Test (CELDT).
The English Language content courses emphasize the
vocabulary, grammar, and basic concepts of a specific academic content
area. Students develop competency in language, activities, and learning
strategies key to success in academic settings. Primary language
support is available based on resources at the school site.
English Language (EL) programs are available at Del Mar,
Prospect, and Westmont High Schools.
