Step 1 - Installing District CA Root Certificate.
Download the CA Root Certificate
file to your local PC, using the link above.
Double-click the CA Root Certificate file.
Click Install Certificate.....
.
On the 'Welcome to the Certificate Import Wizard'
screen, click Next.
At the 'Certificate Store' screen, check that
'Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of
certificate' is selected and click Next.
On the 'Completing the Certificate Import Wizard'
screen, click Finish.
At the 'Root Certificate Store' window, click Yes. A
message is displayed confirming the import was successful.
Click 'OK' to close message and 'OK' to close the
Certificate Information window.
The 'CUHSD CA Root
Certificate' is now installed onto your laptop.
Right click the Wireless Network Icon in the System
Tray, and select 'View Available Wireless Networks'.

Click 'Change Advance Settings'
from the Wireless Network Connection Box.

Select the 'Wireless Networks' Tab.
The 'Use Windows to configure my wireless network
settings' box should be ticked.
Under 'Preferred networks', click Add
.
In the Wireless Network
Properties Box:-
- Enter ‘staff’ for teachers and staff or ‘students’ for students
into the 'Network name (SSID)' box.
- Select WPA for Network authentication
- Select TKIP for Data encryption.
NOTE: If
the WPA and TKIP options do not appear in the drop-down boxes either,
Please refer to the computer manual to upgrade your
wireless network card.

Select the Authentication Tab at the top of the Wireless Network
Properties Box.
Then select Protected EAP (PEAP) for EAP Type, and unclick all other
boxes.

Click Properties.
You will now see the Protected EAP Properties.Ensure ‘Validate Server
Certificate’ is ticked
Scroll down the list of Trusted Root Certification Authorities until
you find ‘cuhsd-prime’. Tick the box to the left of it.
Ensure all other boxes are un-ticked.

Select ‘Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)’
from the ‘Select Authentication Method’ drop down box and then click
Configure.
A new box will pop up
.
Ensure that ‘Automatically use my Windows logon name and password
(and domain if any)’ is un-ticked and click OK.
Click OK again to exit the ‘Protected EAP Properties’ window
Click OK again to exit the ‘Wireless network properties’ window.
A bubble pop up in the bottom right of your desktop in your system
tray

Click the bubble and a log in box will be displayed
.
Enter your District user name and password in to the boxes provided,
leaving the ‘Login Domain’ box empty. Click OK.
Remember, to configure the TCP/IP protocol
for your Wireless LAN card, to obtain configuration automatically from
the DHCP server.
