Beginning with the class of 2006, California requires that students
pass the California High School Exit Exam in English Language Arts
and Math, in addition to satisfying all other requirements, to receive
a diploma. Students must take the exam one time in their 10th grade
year, and if necessary, may take the exam twice as juniors and up
to three times as seniors.
