Q: When do I start?

A: For the 2019-2020 school year, teacher contracts start on August 9, 2019. New hire teachers will also participate in orientation activities earlier in that week. You will receive additional information as that week draws near.

Q: Where can I find the academic calendar?

A: This link will take you to the updated 2019-2020 academic calendar found on our website.

For a different look, find an editable teacher work calendar here. Upon opening, you will be prompted to save a local copy.

Q: When will I get an email account?

A: Once you have been cleared to work and attend a new hire appointment, your email will be created within 1-2 business days. You will receive a welcome email to the personal email we have on file with login credentials and information regarding our IT systems.

Q: What technology will I have to support student learning and growth?

A: Teachers are issued a laptop to use throughout the year.

Once you are issued an email account (please see above), a member of our IT team will contact you to come in and checkout your device. General Education teachers will be contacted to see if you have a preference between a PC or Mac. We will do our best to honor your request, though are constrained by our inventory. Special Education teachers will be issued a PC because of compatibility issues related to Macs and web-based products we use.

Each school site has Chromebook carts where you can sign out laptops for student use. Each classroom has a projector and a clicker.

We are implementing a 1:1 program for students at Del Mar and Prospect. This is the second year for Del Mar and first for Prospect.

Q: What are CUHSD's graduation requirements?

A: Find them here on our website.

Q: I have a question about the specifics of my teaching assignment. Who should I contact?

A: If you have questions about the master schedule or required professional development opportunities (e.g., PLTW, AVID...etc.) related to your assignment, please contact your site administrator. Principals' calendars begin on July 16 (Comprehensive) or July 19 (Continuation).

Q: I need to clear my credential. How does that happen?

A: We are excited to provide great induction programming and cover costs except credentialing fees. If you need induction programming and have not yet been contacted by Brook Wallace (bwallace@cuhsd.org), please reach out to her as soon as you can. She coordinates programming across our district and serves as a coach.

Find additional information on induction programming here.
