This one-year course introduces students to the California agriculture through hands-on activities. Areas of instruction include an introduction to animal science, plant science, agricultural careers, agricultural leadership activities, record keeping, and current issues in agriculture. Students extend and integrate their understanding of physical, life, and earth science concepts. Exploring real world problems, students learn to think scientifically, make decisions, and communicate effectively about scientific knowledge and processes. This course provides students with a foundation for subsequent college preparatory science courses. Students taking this course are eligible to raise livestock on the farm.
