Purpose

The purpose of the Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) is to provide independent oversight of the District’s expenditure of bond proceeds and to report findings to both the Board of Education and the public. The CBOC ensures that all bond funds are used exclusively for projects specified in the voter-approved bond measures.

In addition to monitoring expenditures, the Committee reviews cost-saving measures and examines the annual independent audits required for general obligation bond funds.

The Committee meets at least three times per year, with each meeting typically lasting about 45 minutes.

• Angela Ammann – Member at Large
• Jeremy Thielen, CPA – Active in a bona fide taxpayer association
• Marisol Verdugo – Active in support of a college or educational foundation affiliated with CUHSD
• Noelle Carrol – Parent/Guardian of a CUHSD student; active in parent-teacher organization or site council
• Douglas Carlen – Business organization representative
• Dzenita Hodzic – Community at Large
• Vacant – Community at Large

Becoming a Member

The District’s Governing Board is currently accepting written applications to fill CBOC openings. Pursuant to Proposition 39, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Reside within the boundaries of Campbell Union High School District.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Represent one of the following categories:

The Superintendent or designee—along with the Executive Facilities Director and the Bond Program Director—will interview applicants and submit recommendations to the Board of Education for appointment.
