Westmont High School Celebrates Grand Opening of Newly Renovated Softball Field

On April 7, 2021, Westmont High School celebrated the grand opening of the newly renovated softball field. The varsity softball team played their first home game on their new field. CUHSD Construction Manager Dale Grogen and Trustee Robert Varich threw out the ceremonial first pitch on the new field.

The field's renovations were part of the Measure AA facilities bond measure, passed by the community in 2016. The new field includes brand new dug-outs, turf and scoreboard.

The new field is already bringing good luck to the team with the first player up to bat, number 9 Audrey Salvador, slugging a home run right over centerfield. Westmont High School ended up beating Evergreen High School 15-0.  We are so happy to see our athletics program back up and running with a new field. Thank you to the community for your support of our schools and programs!
