The new Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee met for the first time on May 23. The committee includes the 2019-2020 Student Board Members, Geetanjali Jain (Branham) and Emely Martinez Ramirez (Del Mar) and at least one student representative from each high school site. The students began developing their vision for the superintendent advisory committee and setting expectations for next year.
The purpose of the student board member position is to represent and elevate student voice by being the bridge between the school board and students. With the addition of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee next school year, there will be more representation of student voices across the district
The advisory committee will meet with the superintendent and the student board members regularly to communicate student interests and concerns and to serve as a sounding board for district priorities.
