Prospect High School Students and Staff Recognized by Trustees for Inclusion Work

The Superintendent and Trustees recognized Prospect High School students and staff for their work surrounding inclusion on campus during their Board meeting on December 12. Their work was recently recognized at the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) State Inclusive Collaborative Conference on Thursday, October 24 where they gave the keynote address. The inclusive collaborative promotes a culture that values all children by strengthening, sustaining, and ensuring inclusive practices.
Principal Paul Pinza, Special Education teacher Bobby Joe Stewart, teachers Melissa Feucht and Erin Hinshaw, Coach Rob Mendez and football captain "Toa" Tautolo were recognized for their efforts to focus on inclusion in the classroom and on the football field. Students Byrririana Ramos, Janelle Schumacher, Lauren Duisenberg, and Haley Stringer were also recognized for their leadership in the Best Buddies club, which provides an opportunity to bridge the gap between general education students and students with disabilities.
