Board of Trustees approve Resolution Converting Student Semester “F” Grades to “No Pass”

At the March 18, 2021 Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved Resolution #45-03-18-21 Converting Student Semester “F” Grades to “NP.” This resolution will allow students who earn a letter grade of “F” as a final spring semester course grade instead be assigned a “No Pass” (NP) grade. This resolution will allow our students to retake and pass the course if necessary to meet graduation requirements. The “NP” would not impact their overall Grade Point Average (GPA) on their transcript. The “NP” shall not be used to calculate eligibility for athletic competition.

Additionally, the resolution gives teachers the option to change their fall semester 2020 grades to “NP” for all students who earned an “F.” If teachers opt to do so, it would apply to all students in all of their classes that earned an “F” benefitting many more of our students.
Principals, I am asking that you please review this resolution with your faculty and staff before the end of April 30, 2021.
