Campbell Union High School District Celebrates Leigh High School’s Prestigious Recognition in the 2024 California Distinguished Schools Program
SAN JOSE,CA — Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) proudly announces that Leigh High School has been honored as one of the nearly 300 middle and high schools throughout California selected for the prestigious 2024 California Distinguished Schools Program. This esteemed recognition is awarded by the California Department of Education (CDE) and reflects Leigh High School's commitment to excellence in education, specifically in closing the achievement gap and demonstrating exceptional student performance.
The California Distinguished Schools Program, established in 1985, is California's primary recognition program, celebrating outstanding schools, districts, teachers, and classified employees for their innovation, talent, and success in supporting students. This year, the program highlights schools that have made significant strides in academic achievement, ensuring a positive school climate, and supporting the socioeconomically disadvantaged and historically underserved student groups.
In light of this achievement, Robert Bravo, Ed.D., Superintendent of the Campbell Union High School District, stated, "This recognition is a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence by the staff and students at Leigh High School. The 2024 California Distinguished Schools, along with other notable awardees, will be recognized at a special event at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim on May 3, 2024. This celebration will honor their achievements and contributions to providing exemplary public education to California's students.
