Campbell Union High School District Foundation Creates the Community of Care Fund to Support Anti-Hate Initiatives on Campus

The Campbell Union High School District Education Foundation has set up the Community of Care Fund, with the goal of providing assistance to the Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) with anti-hate efforts and to continue working with students, staff, and community partners to strengthen a culture of respect and to ensure that every member of our school community feels valued and safe. The Foundation assigned $13,000 to the new fund. To donate, visit www.cuhsd.org/CUHSDEFCareFund

“I commend the Campbell Union High School District Education Foundation for this meaningful contribution.  We are an educational community committed to safety, belonging, and respect, and the Community of Care Fund is a reaffirmation of this commitment. It is crucial that our community remains united in rejecting antisemitism and all forms of hate, and in supporting the ongoing work of education and accountability. The new fund will advance these goals,” said Robert Bravo, Ed.D., CUHSD Superintendent.

“Together, we must uphold the values that define our district and ensure that our schools remain places where all students can learn without fear, discrimination, or intimidation,” he added.

Diana Joseph, President of the Campbell Union High School District said “We are proud to support the district as it takes its next steps in combating hate, using the Holocaust as a lens to recognize hate and atrocities against any group as wrong, preventable and stoppable.”

Recently, the CUHSD community was deeply shaken by a social media post created by several students at Branham High School that included a Nazi symbol and a quote attributed to Adolf Hitler. The Nazi hooked cross is an unmistakable symbol of genocide, hatred, and antisemitism. Its use causes real and lasting harm. Antisemitism in any form is unacceptable at CUHSD. The district unequivocally condemns any expression or action that demeans or targets individuals because of their race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or any other protected characteristic.
