Kristiina Arrasmith grew up in San Jose and is a proud graduate of Leigh High School. After high school, she went on to graduate from UC Davis with a BA in Spanish and Communications. Kristiina taught 4th and 5th-grade classes in Texas, where her students’ progress led her to pursue an even greater impact as an educator. As a result, she was selected to coach new teachers and now has notable experience in designing professional development and teacher learning opportunities. Her work as an instructional coach has enabled her to see teachers in multiple district settings, providing her with a broad view of the education landscape in Silicon Valley.
Currently, Kristiina teaches a 3rd-grade bilingual immersion class in San Jose. Her daily experience in the classroom gives her a unique and important perspective as a trustee. Additionally, Kristiina has experience teaching a law-related education class to youth in the juvenile justice system in Santa Clara County as well as being appointed as a court-appointed advocate as a youth mentor.
Kristiina supports the district's goals of achieving equity, closing the achievement gap, and providing our students with social and emotional support. She is passionate about student success and can be contacted anytime at email@example.com.
