Branham principal's secretary Barbara Nishiguchi looks back on her 30 year career before retiring on December 16, 2016.

switching to this country when I was 10 years old my parents immigrated from the showing room area of China my dad work for IBM and so they came out he went to Campbell High School went to West Valley went to San Jose State so you know I'm a local kid energy here we have wonderful kids and we when do for teachers who want to teach and they have so much at each are you I was first hired in 86 here at random when I was hired initially it was for the switchboard position and then opposite I was in a that was a switchboard I worked in the attendance office when I first started abandonment 86 I was in the attendance office enrollment was 1800 student close we were down to I believe 900 who is really sad actually our whole school here when into morning and then when Brandon clothes in 1990 I went to Lee Prospect and Nan Blackford at that time students went to eat early but partially the Westmont and was division it was the wherever you live however the majority went to leave and I think we would just bursting at the scene there just wasn't enough room so you know perhaps is that too they realize that they need another campus in a conviction to come back and the rumors of plain reopening it kind of kept that fire lit in my gut and schools an important place and and I no I knew that I want to be a School site and why not random you know why not you know I just feel like I was born here you know and and I have history here this is my home and then when I heard that Brandon was going to reopen I was just so excited and so I applied for the principal position and feeling I have to go home  I want to go home I want to be a part of reopening because I is here when it closed in 1990 at since I was on the switchboard I was part of the closure it was like a slow death for months and and that was hard that was hard for me to see and tag so of course when they talked about reopening I had to jump on the bandwagon I just had to and I want to be apart something big something for our district something good you know mixing good out of what I know with my skills when we open it was small group and they were only 20 of us because we were such a small group we had to come together and and Bond as a family a teaching educational family with each year we will grow so we will hire more teachers and we have more students and we just Friday man you're part of our family now we're going to go from here and we'll make a memories from here and then we add a few more and a few more look on the plaque that's on the walls of every school in the district office and I I look on it I hope wow I knows this superintendent this embedded it was like I know all these really excited about my retirement and it's time to move on I had mixed emotions one minute I'm getting I'm excited my you know I'm just bursting I can't wait and then the next moment I'm sad and I almost in tears because I'll be leaving this wonderful place consider yourself convert  the people here for Google the kids the students I think that's what makes the world go round yes and how much I care for them and how much they care for me here
